3 More Book Quotes You’ve Probably Never Heard

A while ago I published a post called “3 Book Quotes You Might Not Know” (link at the end of this post). I actually had a hard time keeping it down to just three! So now here are some more that I really love =)

“My sins often make me sad, but religion, never.”

~Martha Finley, ELSIE DINSMORE

A lot of people think of “religion” as tiresome, annoying, and/or dull. Probably their ideas about it are confused. But for those of us who are saved, it is a glad privilege. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27

“The confidence of others is not mine to bestow.”

~Jane Porter, THE SCOTTISH CHIEFS

How true this is, and how well we would do to live by it.

“There was One, and only One, to whose feet the waters were the same as a dry deck.”

~James Fenimore Cooper, THE PILOT

This goes along with a verse from Job:

“Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.” Job 9:8

I hope you enjoyed these quotes! If you haven’t read my previous post, you can read it here.
